Zoom – Teeth Whitening Procedure
Today with so many whitening options available on the market, it can be challenging to decide which option suit you the best. Dr. Kakos’ office offers Zoom Teeth Whitening System – #1 most patient-requested professional whitening brand.
When it comes to teeth whitening, patients usually have some concerns. To help you to make your choice clearer we posted several frequently asked questions from those who considered whitening their smile.
How long does the zoom whitening procedure take?
Traditionally about one hour.
How many shades whiter can I expect my teeth to get?
Every patient is different. Age, gender and even medication can contribute to the color of our teeth, but we are confident that at the end of ZOOM you will notice a difference.
Does the procedure hurt?
Most patients experience no discomfort.
What are the possible side effects?
Short term sensitivity that can last up to 24 hrs.
How long will my teeth whitening results last?
Every patient is different. Lifestyle choices can contribute to the fading; however, after the ZOOM appointment, you will be given tools so that your enhanced smile will last as long as possible.
Will fillings and crowns be affected by the whitening?
Fillings and crowns are not altered by whitening.
What is in your whitening gel product?
Hydrogen Peroxide
Is professional whitening better than over-the-counter products?
Dental offices are able to provide different strengths of the product whereas over-the-counter products cannot.
Can I still consider zoom if my teeth are very sensitive?
Yes. A simple protocol two weeks before the ZOOM procedure of using desensitizing toothpaste will minimize the sensitivity.
Are any age limits to use zoom teeth whitening?
18 yrs of age – however, there is an exception, based on the patient’s goals. The full 1-hour treatment might not be able to be completed.
Is the zoom teeth whitening procedure covered by insurance?
No, it is not.
